Trakian - Modem box Its an autonomous system with a modem included and also a board running Trakian and having 2 microprocessors of 25 MIPS, 1Mb of RAM, 8 Mb of Solid State Disk and IO channels. The box is a complete self sufficient Trakian system capable to run as a complete server with SMTP, POP, WEB,... servers, all being accessibles by the PSTN (public switched telephone network), thus delivering WEB pages of a family or enterprise and sending/receiving mails. It is also the family's gateway connecting the whole family computers to the Internet by a single line. By a serial line it can also serve has an intelligent modem capable to connect a PC to all services available in the box but also capable to connect the PC to Internet. All services being autonomous, the box can deliver outside all services also when the PC is shutdown. The serial line can be used to connect any computer or system capable to use serial connections, "any" can be old i86PCs but also Apple and others. Nothing that Trakian is also available as software running on the other computers, it can transform those systems in... Trakian servers. And so, such a Trakian can serve as bridge/gateway to a classic LAN and deliver all services of the "box" to this LAN. The "box" becomes thus the inhouse communication system. Having a LAN, the box can be connected through this LAN to other Trakian systems existing inhouse. This use proprietary LAN specifications capable to connect a very large count of systems. Others PCs can also be connected to this LAN through a Trakian board.
