Trakian, the Emailers

The Trakian family of products are emailers oriented to peer to peer connections.
In fact they exchange Emails from one user to another using the public switched telephone network. But they can also use a private telephone network
If having a PC and a modem plus a telephone line, the Trakian products can exchange Emails and files.
All Trakians have or can have many servers, SMTP, POP3, HTTP, ....
Trakian is the connection machine of 'Clients' like Charlie, the HTML viewer.

Many versions are available, as shareware.
And a demo version, freeware is downloadable. It includes almost all capabilities of the Trakians but can only exchange between two system connected by a cable or a private line or a simple twisted pair line.

Like Charlie the Trakians are very small and very fast.  For a classic ix86 a full SMTP server/client version is less than 60 kbytes.
Actually they display on a proprietary windowing system in character mode. But the graphical windowing system is also availlable

They take in charge anything needed, from the memory management to the IO system or the disk system.

They are multitasking and some versions have an inside mail server with password challenge authentification . Or some can manage many mailboxes and they are "Emails servers" for many users but working on simple telephone lines, from one user directly to another.

In fact they can act as 'providers', enlarging the Internet to the public telephone network. And they can upload/download files in batch. The servers can also 'callback', sending a received Email to anybody.

The Trakians can upload the modules of softwares (Managers) from any mass storage, eprom, ram or disk. And they load Managers when required. Capable also to remove Managers from used memory when space is needed.
They can also load Managers from the network. For example to the 'server' they are connected too.

And one version shall be Internet capable. Giving so access to Internet to all users of this system, local or remote users.
They can run on any PC, under DOS or any MS-Windows (3, 95, 98, NT, 2000)
But they can also run on any other system, versions for UNIX are planned. Or standalone versions for small systems displaying on TV Sets or portables.
Versions are existing for ANSI C++ or ANSI C compilers.
